Loading the configurator…

Full-Color Dye-Blocking Heat Transfers print a complete design in a single press, with every color included at once. There is no color limit, no weeding, and no stiff edge around the artwork, so detailed logos, gradients, and small text stay clean. A blocking layer under the print stops fabric dye from migrating into the design, which keeps colors bright and true on fabrics that would ruin an ordinary transfer.

The barrier is an invisible layer beneath the color that creates a true dye-blocking result. Dye from sublimated polyester, patterned polyester, tri-blends, and other unstable fabrics cannot bleed through over time, so whites stay white and bright colors stay clean. A white backing under the color keeps artwork vivid on both light and dark garments, and the print stretches and rebounds without cracking through regular wear. Spot-color matching keeps brand and team colors consistent across reorders, and metallic colors are available at no extra cost.

Nine finished sizes are available, from a 1.5 x 1.5 in chest mark to an 11.7 x 16.5 in full front or back, including alternate A5 and A4 orientations for wide or tall layouts. Every size is offered at every quantity, so one artwork file can run 10 pieces for a team and repeat unchanged at volume. The minimum is 10 identical pieces per design, with unit pricing that steps down at 20, 50, 100, 200, 300, 500, 1000, 2500, and 5000 pieces.

These transfers suit cotton, polycotton blends, fleece, and all polyesters, including sublimated and patterned polyester and tri-blend fabrics that may bleed. That covers tees, hoodies, sportswear, stretchy athleisure wear, denim, and cotton tote bags, with patterned game-day jerseys and sublimated performance wear as the core use case. They are not intended for fabrics with waterproof coatings or specialty fabrics that need a low-temperature press, where a low-melt transfer is the safer choice. Headwear works only where the design does not cross a seam, such as the front of a five-panel cap, and all-over bag coverage suits a promotional transfer instead.

Application takes 10 to 15 seconds at 290°F to 320°F with firm 40 psi pressure, then a hot peel. Use an air-operated or manual heat press, not a domestic iron or a low-pressure craft press, and press a sample first when you change fabrics or settings. Supply one print-ready PDF with fonts outlined and fine lines at 0.6 pt or heavier, and every file is reviewed before printing. Production runs 1 to 2 business days after artwork approval. For full color on difficult polyester that must not bleed, this is the format to order.

FAQ

Single Image FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is this transfer?

A full-color garment transfer with a built-in dye-blocking layer. One artwork file produces every color at once, with a soft feel, no weeding, and a hot peel, and the barrier underneath stops fabric dye from bleeding into the print.

What is dye migration and why does it matter?

Polyester and sublimated fabrics are dyed with heat. When a transfer is pressed with heat, that dye can reactivate and bleed into the design over time, causing discoloration and dark spots. The blocking layer sits between the fabric and the print and prevents that bleed, so colors stay clean.

How is it different from an everyday soft-hand transfer?

Both press the same way and feel the same on the garment. The difference is the invisible barrier: when you are unsure whether a fabric will bleed, the barrier version avoids a costly mistake. If you know the fabric is stable cotton or non-sublimated polyester, the everyday version is the more economical choice.

What sizes can I order?

Nine finished sizes, from 1.5 x 1.5 in up to 11.7 x 16.5 in, including alternate A5 and A4 orientations for wide or tall layouts. The largest covers a full front or back panel, and every size is available at every quantity.

What is the minimum order?

10 identical pieces per design. For fewer than 10, use a no-minimum format instead.

How does quantity pricing work?

Any quantity from 10 pieces upward. Unit cost steps down at 20, 50, 100, 200, 300, 500, 1000, 2500, and 5000 pieces, so larger runs cost less per piece.

Which fabrics work best?

Cotton, polycotton blends, fleece, and all polyesters, including sublimated and patterned polyester and tri-blends. In practice, that covers tees, hoodies, sportswear, stretchy athleisure wear, denim, and cotton tote bags, with patterned jerseys and sublimated performance wear as the core use case.

Which fabrics should I avoid?

Avoid fabrics with waterproof coatings and specialty fabrics that need a low-temperature press. A low-melt transfer is the safer choice there.

Can I use it on caps or tote bags?

Cotton tote bags press well. Caps work only where the design does not cross a seam, such as the front of a five-panel cap. For seams or mesh, use a headwear-specific transfer, and for all-over bag coverage, use a promotional transfer.

Do you match brand colors or print metallics?

Yes. Spot-color matching is available so team and brand colors stay consistent, and metallic colors print at no extra cost.

What press settings do I use?

290°F to 320°F for 10 to 15 seconds at 40 psi firm, then peel hot. Use a higher setting on a manual press. Full steps are on the Application tab.

What press do I need?

An air-operated or manual heat press. A domestic iron or a low-pressure craft press will not bond the transfer correctly.

How durable is the print?

Independently tested to 80+ washes before fading or cracking, with water-based inks and certified materials.

How fast will my order produce?

Production runs 1 to 2 business days after artwork approval. Delivery time depends on location and the shipping method selected at checkout.

What artwork file should I upload?

One file per design, PDF preferred from vector software. Outline all fonts and keep fine lines at 0.6 pt or heavier. PDF, AI, CDR, and SVG are preferred, and other common formats are accepted.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a dye-blocking gang sheet?

A press-ready sheet that holds multiple arranged full-color designs with a built-in dye-blocking layer. You upload one completed sheet file sized to the sheet you order, and the whole sheet presses in one application, with the barrier underneath helping reduce dye bleed into the print.

How do I order a gang sheet?

Choose a sheet size (A5, A4, or A3), set the quantity, upload your completed gang-sheet file, and add any notes in Details and Comments. There is no online builder; arrange your designs before uploading.

What sheet sizes can I order?

Three sheet sizes: A5 5.8 x 8.3 in, A4 8.3 x 11.7 in, and A3 11.7 x 16.5 in. The largest covers a full front or back panel area.

What is the minimum order?

10 sheets per design. For fewer than 10, use a no-minimum format instead.

How does quantity pricing work?

Order the quantity of sheets you need. Unit cost steps down at 20, 50, 100, 200, 300, 500, 1000, 2500, and 5000 sheets, so larger runs cost less per sheet. Final totals calculate live in the configurator.

Step-by-Step Application

  1. Prepare the garment. Press the blank first to remove wrinkles and surface moisture. On sublimated polyester, confirm the fabric is smooth and dry, since moisture encourages dye movement.
  2. Place the transfer. Position the transfer printed side up, on top of the fabric and not over a seam. The finished size of the transfer is the finished size of the print.
  3. Close the press. Set the platen to 290°F to 320°F and close with firm pressure at 40 psi. On a manual press, use a higher pressure setting.
  4. Hold. Keep the press closed for 10 to 15 seconds. Do not shorten the dwell, because the adhesive and the blocking layer need the full heat and time to bond.
  5. Peel hot. Open the press and peel the carrier away immediately while the print is still warm, with a slow steady pull at roughly a 180-degree angle.
  6. Check the result. Confirm the edges are fully bonded and the colors are clean before continuing with the rest of the run.

Important Precautions

  • Use an air-operated or manual heat press, not a domestic iron or a low-pressure craft press.
  • Do not press on fabrics with waterproof coatings or specialty fabrics that need a low-temperature press. Use a low-melt transfer on those fabrics.
  • Do not press a headwear design across a seam or over mesh.
  • When in doubt about dye stability, press a sample first and check it after cooling before running production.
  • Always perform a test press before starting full production. We are not responsible for damaged garments.

Care Instructions

  • Wash Cold Inside Out.
  • Best if Hang Dry or No Heat if Must Tumble Dry Low Heat.
  • Do Not Bleach.
  • Do Not Iron Imprint/Transfer.
  • Do Not Dry Clean.
  • Best Not to use fabric softener.

Always perform a test press before full production to verify adhesion, application settings, and garment compatibility.

For designs with transparent areas, PNG or PSD is preferable to JPG. JPG files should only be used when the entire rectangular background is intended to print.

Color & Design Setup

Color preparation depends on the selected transfer type. Use the correct color settings for the printing process and make sure the submitted design represents the intended finished artwork.

  • SupaDTF: Prepare artwork using CMYK color mode. Pantone color matching is not available for SupaDTF.
  • Pantone-Matched Products: Where matching is supported, use official Pantone Solid Coated (C) colors.
  • Specialty Colors: Certain neons, pastels, and premium metallic colors cannot be matched exactly.
  • Transparency: Keep non-printing areas transparent and avoid unwanted solid backgrounds.
  • Effects: Semi-transparent glows, fades, and shadows may need to be converted into solid-edged artwork.

Minimum Detail & Text Requirements

Fine details should be large enough to reproduce cleanly. Avoid excessively thin free-floating lines and ensure that text and vector effects are prepared correctly.

Requirement Minimum
Free-Floating Line Thickness 0.6 pt / 0.2 mm
  • Convert all editable text to outlines or shapes.
  • Embed linked artwork and images.
  • Expand pattern fills before submitting vector artwork.
