Description
Full-Color Softshell Dye-Blocking Transfer Gang Sheets put multiple designs on one press-ready sheet, with every color included at once. There is no color limit, no weeding, and no stiff edge around the artwork, so detailed logos, gradients, and small text stay clean. A dye-blocking layer beneath the print helps reduce dye migration into the design, which keeps colors brighter on coated softshell that would challenge an ordinary transfer.
The barrier is a specially formulated layer beneath the color that traps fabric dye and helps prevent discoloration of the print. On softshell and coated outdoor fabrics, heat can reactivate fabric dyes and bleed over time; the barrier sits between the shell and the print to reduce that bleed, so whites stay cleaner and bright colors stay truer. A white backing under the color keeps artwork vivid on both light and dark shells, and the print stretches and rebounds without cracking through regular wear. Spot-color matching keeps brand and team colors consistent across reorders, and metallic colors are available at no extra cost.
Order a completed gang sheet in one of three sheet sizes: A5 5.8 x 8.3 in, A4 8.3 x 11.7 in, or A3 11.7 x 16.5 in. Arrange your designs inside the sheet you order and upload the finished sheet file. Every sheet presses in a single application, so one sheet can cover a run of shells or a mix of graphics for the same job.
These transfers suit softshell jackets, vests, pants, hiking and outdoor gear, sports club team uniforms, company corporate vests, coats and jackets, and softshell-blend apparel. Softshell fabric has a water-repellent coating that resists ordinary transfers, so this dye-blocking formulation is the safer choice where a standard garment transfer would fail to bond or would overheat the garment. They are intended for shells that can withstand 290F to 300F.
Application takes 10 seconds at 290F to 300F with firm 40 psi pressure, then a hot peel. Use an air-operated or manual heat press, not a domestic iron, a craft press, or any press without adequate pressure settings, and press a sample first when you change shells. Supply one print-ready gang-sheet PDF with fonts outlined and fine lines at 0.6 pt or heavier, and every file is reviewed before production. Production runs 1 to 2 business days. For full color on softshell across multiple designs on one sheet, this is the format to order.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a softshell dye-blocking gang sheet?
A press-ready sheet that holds multiple arranged full-color designs with a dye-blocking layer for softshell and coated shells. You upload one completed sheet file sized to the sheet you order, and the whole sheet presses in one application, with the barrier underneath helping reduce dye bleed into the print.
How do I order a gang sheet?
Choose a sheet size (A5, A4, or A3), set the quantity, upload your completed gang-sheet file, and add any notes in Details and Comments. There is no online builder; arrange your designs before uploading.
What sheet sizes can I order?
Three sheet sizes: A5 5.8 x 8.3 in, A4 8.3 x 11.7 in, and A3 11.7 x 16.5 in. The largest covers a full front or back panel area.
What is the minimum order?
10 sheets per design. For fewer than 10, use a no-minimum format instead.
How does quantity pricing work?
Order the quantity of sheets you need. Unit cost steps down at 20, 50, 100, 200, 300, 500, 1000, 2500, and 5000 sheets, so larger runs cost less per sheet. Final totals calculate live in the configurator.
Which garments is it made for?
Softshell jackets, vests, pants, hiking and outdoor gear, sports club team uniforms, company corporate vests, coats and jackets, and softshell-blend apparel, provided the shell withstands 290F to 300F.
Why does softshell need a dye-blocking transfer?
Softshell has a water-repellent coating and unstable dye. A standard transfer can fail to bond or overheat the garment, and dye can bleed into the design without a blocking layer. This formulation bonds to the shell and the barrier helps reduce bleed for cleaner color.
Will it work on dark and light shells?
Yes. A white backing under the color keeps artwork bright on both light and dark fabrics. Choose the garment color at checkout so the job runs correctly.
How do I specify brand colors?
Use the Colors field to enter Pantone or PMS numbers, CMYK values, or other custom color instructions in plain text. Spot-color matching is available, and metallic colors are available at no extra cost.
What press settings do I use?
290F to 300F for 10 seconds at 40 psi firm pressure, then peel hot. Use a higher setting on a manual press. Full steps are on the Application tab.
What press do I need?
An air-operated or manual heat press with adequate pressure settings. A domestic iron or a low-pressure craft press will not bond the transfer correctly.
How fast will my order produce?
Production runs 1 to 2 business days. Delivery time depends on location and the shipping method selected at checkout.
What artwork file should I upload?
One completed gang-sheet file sized to the sheet ordered, PDF preferred from vector software. Arrange all designs inside the sheet area, outline all fonts, and keep fine lines at 0.6 pt or heavier. PDF, AI, CDR, and SVG are preferred, and other common formats are accepted. There is no online builder.
How should I care for pressed softshell?
Let the print cool and confirm edges are fully bonded before packing or wearing the shell. For washable shells, follow the care label; wash inside out where the label allows and avoid fabric softener on the printed area.

Step-by-Step Application
-
Confirm heat tolerance. Check that the shell withstands 290F to 300F. Softshell has a water-repellent coating, so when unsure about the shell, test on a sample or hidden area first.
-
Prepare the shell. Clean and smooth the press area. Press the blank briefly where the material allows to remove wrinkles and surface moisture.
-
Place the transfer. Position the transfer printed side up on the garment, not over a seam, zipper, or hardware. The finished size of the transfer is the finished size of the print.
-
Close the press. Set the platen to 290F to 300F and close with firm pressure at 40 psi. On a manual press, use a higher pressure setting.
-
Hold. Keep the press closed for the full 10 seconds. Do not shorten the dwell, because the dye-blocking layer needs the full heat and time to bond.
-
Peel hot. Open the press and peel the carrier away immediately while the print is still warm, with a slow steady pull.
-
Check the result. Confirm the edges are fully bonded and the colors are clean with no dye showing through before continuing with the rest of the run.
Important Precautions
- Use an air-operated or manual heat press, not a domestic iron, a Cricut Easy Press, or any press without adequate pressure settings.
- Do not press shells that cannot withstand 290F to 300F.
- Keep transfers away from seams, zippers, and hardware that prevent even pressure.
- When in doubt about dye stability or coatings, press a sample first and check it after cooling before running production.
- Always perform a test press before starting full production. We are not responsible for damaged garments.
Care Instructions
- Wash Cold Inside Out.
- Best if Hang Dry or No Heat if Must Tumble Dry Low Heat.
- Do Not Bleach.
- Do Not Iron Imprint/Transfer.
- Do Not Dry Clean.
- Best Not to use fabric softener.
Always perform a test press before full production to verify adhesion, application settings, and garment compatibility.
